Mindful Warrior Group

The Mindful Warrior Group allows teenagers to develop mindfulness-based skills as tools to help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health difficulties and disorders and increase their resilience. Teens participate in mindful activities in session whilst developing their knowledge about their mental health and coping abilities. The programme encourages the emergence of a Mindful Warrior: an empowered, resilient teen learning to self-regulate behaviour and emotions when challenged. The programme includes content such as:

  • Understanding mindful concepts and perspectives
  • Developing mindfulness-based relaxation and regulating skills
  • Understanding challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and how they impact on wellbeing
  • Identifying thoughts, and emotions and implementing mindfulness actions 
  • Identifying personal values and what motivates their thoughts, feelings, and actions
  • Developing goals and persevering
  • Identifying and evaluating personal strengths
  • Developing problem-solving skills
  • Developing and maintaining a nonjudgmental space to learn, practice, and interact

Teenagers with deficits in emotional understanding and regulation who are looking for coping skills
