Amy Coggins

Amy is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who works part-time with our practice, offering assessment and treatment services to children and adolescents. Amy's an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated clinician who quickly builds genuine rapport with the young people and families with whom she works. Amy has always had a passion for working with, and making a positive difference in the lives of young people and their families.  Amy uses a range of treatments, including cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and parenting skills.

In 2014, Amy graduated with first-class Honours from a Bachelor of Psychology at Macquarie University, followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology at UTS, to become a registered Psychologist. During Amy's clinical placement at the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service, she gained invaluable clinical experience working with pregnant women, carers and families who have severe and complex mental health problems, who have children up to age 3 years. At the UTS Psychology Units she gained clinical experience providing assessment, formulation and evidence based psychological treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. Amy served as a clinician on a research intervention trial for families with children with behavioural problems, utilising the Collaborative Proactive Solutions (CPS) therapy modality.  She also has extensive non-clinical experience with children through her previous roles as a foster carer assessor and recruiter, a before and after school care co-ordinator, a Learn-to-Swim instructor, and a nanny.

Amy is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is currently completing her registrar program to become an endorsed Clinical Psychologist, under the supervision of Birgitta Österberg. Amy is also a registered service provider under the Australian Government’s Better Outcomes for Mental Health Care program and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
